SANDCASTLES
A castle out of sand was raised
On the shore near the sea
Tide was out, and breakers crashed
Far from the sculpture's masterpiece
A marriage out of hope was raised
Its promise of eternal love
Carved in pureness, blissful union
By the Artist from above
Waves slapped against the castle walls
Devouring the citadel
Nipping, biting, slowly sucking
The underpinning till it fell
Deceitful lies, eroded trust
Break upon the wedded walls
Fear, consuming love's foundation
Until the weakened fortress falls
