WATER COLOR WORDS
With pen and ink, the writer paints
In mulitcolored language and water color words.
From pallet of verb and noun spring
Landscape, scenery and portraits of the mind.
In thoughtful strokes and hues of subtle dialogue
Shadowy characters emerge on the canvas page
To pursue plot and subplot through artfully sketched layers
Of mystery, adventure, intrigue, and romance
Not with oil or acrylic but with metaphor and simile
The literary painting expresses in words
The art and beauty of the Master's mind.
