Beaches and Breakers

I love the ocean—probably comes from being spawned in California. Like a sea gull, I find myself drawn to its shores whether the gentle beaches of the Indian Ocean or the crashing waves of the California coast. Here are a few shots of some of my favorite places.

My Beloved Gig Harbor

There are few places on this earth that are as beautiful as Gig Harbor, Washington. The Puget Sound is unique and picturesque filled with harbors and beaches that seem to fill the senses with a sense of God’s awe. Blessed to have lived in such a marvelous place, I had ample opportunity to photograph this small piece of God’s Kingdom on many occasions.

Desert Scenes

The Sonora Desert of Arizona and Northern Mexico is one of unique beauty and strange sights. The fragile eco-system is being threatened by growth and expansion as humanity encroaches upon its borders. Much of the flora and fauna found her can exist no where else. Here are but a few beautiful scenes. Enjoy!

God's Wonders

God is the perfect artist. In everything He created He placed His beauty and His glory. Sadly, we don’t often take the time to stop and look at the beauty in everything around us from the flowers to the artistic spider’s web.

Oddities

Sometimes a picture says it all. I love to do “art” photography and appreciate it whenever I see it done well. I don't have many of those but here is my selection. The graffiti picture, taken in San Francisco, was accepted into an international competition. It didn't win but just being accepted was an honor for me. The picture of the Spirit of St. Louis, superimposed over one of the Smithsonian Museum buildings was purely accidental. The bird, bottle and cap I happened upon arranged just as they are in the photo. A legacy to humanity. In the photo of the mirrors, I see time bending in an arc and I suppose would make a complete circle. Just like life, isn't it.

Travels

I'm more of a world traveler wannabe. Money, time and other things in life prevent me from selling everything and taking off to see the world. I imagine one day (perhaps in the Millennium) I'll be able to see everything but for now, I have to be happy with what little I'm able to see. I've visited a few places, Puerto Rico, India, Singapore, Hong Kong. I've seen Washington D.C., New York City, Philadelphia and Atlantic City. The Amish Country is fascinating, as is the Salt Lake and Yellowstone Park. I've lived in San Francisco and Billings. You don't have to travel far to see God's beauty.
